On the doorstepThere's always life in the square outside our house. Stone seats provide the perfect place for chatting and watching the world go by. On Sunday mornings there's a real buzz as people come in from a mile or so around to go to mass. In June and August, Mochignano Chiesa (or Mochignano di Sotto to use its official name) has its own celebration days.
Across the square there's Al Vecchio Podere, a traditional farm restaurant which locals and our guests love. You'll need to book ahead in summer! Ten minutes down the lane behind the village takes you to a cool mountain stream with pools just big enough to swim in, and endless opportunities for paddling and dambuilding. Ten minutes up the lane through the village takes you to Mochignano di Sopra, where you can look down onto our rooftops one way, and into the next valley the other way. |
